Dr Sikandar Hayat, Distinguished Professor of History and Public Policy, was the guest speaker in ‘Building Bridges: Ilm, Adab aur Insaaniat’ class on 13th February. The title of his talk was Founding Fathers of Pakistan: Challenges of Today and Opportunities. 

Dr Hayat spoke about the founders' vision of tolerance and inclusiveness towards "the other". Students enjoyed his talk thoroughly and found it ‘eye opening’. Dr Hayat also enjoyed interacting with the students and expressed his best wishes for this ‘wonderful, exciting program.’

Building Bridges: Ilm, Adab aur Insaaniat

Building Bridges: Ilm, Adab aur Insaaniat, a unique and novel course offered by the newly set up ‘Center for Dialogue & Action’ has gained the attention of students. The course, offered at undergraduate level, has enrolment of almost double the student limit.

The course aims to promote understanding and valuing differences in race, gender, ethnicity, and religion. The course is grounded in local thought intended to empower students and teachers to understand, experience, and advocate universal human rights, value diversity, and respect difference.
